A total of RM1.2mil was raised by Yayasan MRCB from its “Simply The Best” charity concert celebrating the music and legacy of Tina Turner.

The tribute concert held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur featured Rebecca O’Connor, an Irish singer endorsed by the late Turner herself.

Yayasan MRCB chairman Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng said the foundation was grateful to everyone who supported the event.

“Your generosity is the lifeline for many underprivileged students and needy communities.

“We hope our sponsors will continue to stand with us in our mission to uplift and transform the lives of the less fortunate, providing them with the opportunities and support they desperately need,” she added.

To date, Yayasan MRCB has contributed over RM5mil to assist students and B40 communities across Malaysia.

Jasmine said the foundation remained committed to developing more activities to support the less fortunate.

“Yayasan MRCB tackles social issues on multiple fronts, transforming lives through its focus on education for underprivileged students, combating social poverty by supporting underserved communities with financial and in-kind donations and providing medical aid to patients in need,” she said.

The foundation also empowers individuals with disabilities through skills training and education, supports sustainable development for single mothers and B40 communities as well as engages with Orang Asli communities by offering food aid and medical assistance.

Yayasan MRCB extended special thanks to its top sponsors and other generous donors.

“The participation of our sponsors and volunteers played a crucial role,” she said.

“Their unwavering support and dedication were instrumental in Yayasan MRCB reaching its fundraising goal.”
