KOTA Damansara assemblyman Shatiri Mansor has told residents of Tropicana Indah in Petaling Jaya, Selangor that he wants to meet the Datuk Seri who broke council laws and ignored council notices to mediate the situation between the relevant parties.
On May 20, StarMetro reported that the Datuk Seri living in the upmarket neighbourhood had broken city council rules and disregarded three stop-work order notices issued by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) on May 8, 10 and 11.

On this, Shatiri said that he wants to meet the Datuk Seri involved in this issue face to face
"Let the council handle the matter according to their standard operating procedures and guidelines," he said, adding that the PJU3/12 residents association and the Tropicana Indah management both want him to speak with the Datuk Seri.
"We have to find an amicable solution. Let me also hear what this Datuk Seri has got to say. As for the Tropicana residents, their biggest concern is over traffic flow and safety caused by the illegal work," said Shatiri.

Among renovations carried out include parking bays created close to the main road which disrupt traffic flow, a large water tank placed over a drain which encroaches into public land as well as air conditioners and compressors installed in common areas.
Residents are calling for concrete action by MBPJ.
"The 14-day deadline is over and we want to know what MBPJ will do now.
"No one is above the law – it's that simple. No one should get away if there is a clear breach of the law," said a resident who did not wish to be identified.

MBPJ has yet to respond to StarMetro on its next course of action.
It was reported that MBPJ enforcement personnel had also visited the site three times.
There have also been claims that the Datuk Seri's workers intimidated security guards and other residents in the neighbourhood.
The Petaling Jaya mayor in a previous report had said that the offender could be fined RM25,000. However, the council has several procedures to follow before drastic measures are taken.
