‘Call MBPJ hotline if gate blocked by irresponsible motorists’

Kusaaliny: MBPJ preparing budget to provide more parking in Section 11.

MORE parking spaces will be allocated for Section 11, Petaling Jaya.

Zone 11 councillor Kusaaliny Mahendran told StarMetro that Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) was preparing a budget for this next year.

“We have received requests from affected residents on this matter, particularly covering drains and grass patches along Jalan 11/4 to create more parking spaces.”

When asked what residents should do when they face abuse from irresponsible motorists blocking their gates, she said: “The complainant should gather evidence to make a police report.”

However, obstruction involving motorists blocking people’s right of way falls under MBPJ’s jurisdiction.

In cases of an emergency, they should contact the fast response team (Pantas Squad) via MBPJ Complaints Hotline on 03-7954 2020 or 03-7957 4113 (24 hours).

On residents’ requests for the two-hour parking system to be introduced in Section 11, Kusaaliny said current state policy requires banks and a multi-storey carpark to be in the vicinity.

“We will work on expanding this policy further to accommodate the requests in Section 11,” she added. — By AIDA AHMAD
