SHOPPERS stand to win a chunk of RM4mil in prizes in a global food manufacturer’s contest that offers the grand prize winner a monthly income of RM3,500 for the next 35 years.
Nestle Malaysia’s Salary for Life 3.0 campaign aims to provide financial support to consumers amid economic uncertainty.
Nestle Malaysia chief executive officer Juan Aranols said many Malaysians were concerned about affordability and the rising cost of living.
“The global economic environment remains uncertain with ongoing international volatility, so we wanted to introduce an initiative that brings excitement while offering meaningful financial support through cash prizes.
“At the same time, it is equally important for us to continue supporting the wider community.
“The most rewarding aspect of this campaign is that it not only engages Malaysians, but also enables us to recognise and support charities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that work tirelessly to help those in need,” he said at the launch of the campaign at the company’s headquarters in 1 Powerhouse in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Under the initiative, Nestle will also donate RM900,000 to 21 local charities and NGOs.
To take part in the contest, consumers must buy a minimum of RM20 worth of participating Nestle products in a single receipt and submit a photo of the proof of purchase via WhatsApp to 018-322 3320 or through the official website campaign website, by Sept 30.
Winners will be randomly chosen, with a select number invited to a game show to battle it out for the grand prize.
Besides the grand prize, there will also be two winners who will receive RM3,500 monthly for 24 months each, while 18 winners will receive the same amount for 12 months.
There will also be 10,000 weekly winners who will take home RM100 Touch ’n Go vouchers each.
Previous grand prize winners attended the launch to share their experiences.
Manager Lim Yuen Heng, 48, who won the contest in 2024, said the extra income had improved his family’s quality of life.
“It has enabled my wife and I to better plan for our retirement and child’s education.
“It has given my family a lot of confidence,” said Lim, who hails from Johor Baru.
Army officer Amirrul Hafiz Razak, 38, from Temerloh, Pahang, won RM3,000 monthly for 35 years during the 2020 campaign.
He said he had never expected to win the grand prize.
“When I saw the campaign advertisement at the supermarket, I thought it would be nice to win the weekly prize.
“When I got the call that I was one of the finalists, I thought it was a scam.
“During the grand finale, there were several challenges and I was losing initially but managed to catch up at the end.”
Amirrul said the extra money had provided financial security and enabled his family to give back to charity.
