POPULAR nasyid group Rabbani, through the “Mahligai Syurga” project, is presenting the “Karnival Ummah Bestari” at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam, from Nov 15 to 17.

Visitors to the three-day event can look forward to nasyid performances, talks and zikir sessions as well as a free course on performing the umrah (non-mandatory pilgrimage made by Muslims to Mecca).

One of Rabbani’s members, Azadan Abdul Aziz, said the carnival aimed to raise funds to build a tahfiz (religious school) — Pondok Moden Darussalam Sijangkang in Selangor.

“We expect about 500 people to take part in the ‘Karnival Ummah Bestari’ course for umrah pilgrims.

“Visitors can attend the course for free after registering at the event, ” he said.

There are other interesting activities to look forward to, including nasyid and colouring competitions as well as a silat performance.

The event will be attended by singers Daqmie and Iwan Shahman as well as prominent religious figure Datuk Ustazah Siti Nor Bahyah.

There will also be a talk by Indonesian Ustaz Abdul Somad, who has been invited for the “Ceramah Perdana” segment, which will take place on Nov 16.
