Top nasyid group Unic wins many hearts with a superb performance at their concert at Idea Live Arena on Dec 20

Idea Live Arena came alive on Dec 20 with melodies rich in meaning as renowned contemporary nasyid group UNIC successfully staged their first-ever full solo concert, “This Is UNIC: Live In Concert.”

The landmark performance marked a defining milestone in the group’s journey after more than two decades dedicated to music rooted in dakwah, spirituality, and humanitarian values.

Organised by Triple Am Global, the concert went beyond the usual live music experience. Instead, it stood as a powerful artistic statement, reaffirming the relevance, endurance, and evolving presence of nasyid music within today’s mainstream entertainment landscape.

The concert opened with “Hanyut,” setting a reflective mood and drawing the audience into UNIC’s musical journey. Early songs like “Balqis,” “Remaja,” and “Sebuah Pertemuan” brought back memories of their early years, while later tracks such as “Jalinan,” “Keroncong Kasih Sayang,” and “Kawan” showcased their growth and musical maturity.

Reflecting on the evening, Bazli Hazwan described the experience as deeply personal.

“Performing older songs like ‘Balqis’ and ‘Remaja’ felt like returning to the very beginning of UNIC’s journey. Seeing the audience sing along reminded us that these songs are still alive and meaningful, even after all these years,” he described.

The concert then transitioned into a calmer, more reflective segment through spiritual songs such as “Hakikat Bahagia,” “Doa Dhuha,” “Anak Soleh,” “Jom Solat,” and “Qunut Nazilah.” During this segment, the arena fell into a peaceful, thoughtful atmosphere, highlighting UNIC’s role in connecting with the audience through music and spirituality.

For Dr. Fitri Haris, this segment showed the heart of UNIC’s mission.

“Nasyid is not merely music. It is a medium to invite reflection, to touch hearts, and to remind. When the entire hall fell silent during songs like ‘Doa Dhuha’ and ‘Qunut Nazilah,’ it became one of the most moving moments of the night,” he explained.

The atmosphere intensified as UNIC performed some of their most iconic and beloved songs, including “Hanya Tuhan Yang Tahu,” “Mahligai Kasih,” “Demi Cinta Suci,” and “Atas Nama Cinta.”

Each song was met with overwhelming excitement from the audience, who sang along passionately. The arena was alive with energy, as the collective voices of devoted fans filled every corner of Idea Live Arena, creating a deeply emotional and unforgettable shared experience that truly celebrated the bond between the group and their supporters.

Fakhrul Radhi shared that this segment was the emotional highlight of the night.

“When fans sang along to songs like ‘Hanya Tuhan Yang Tahu’ and ‘Demi Cinta Suci,’ we felt an incredibly strong bond between us and the audience. It wasn’t just a performance, it was a shared emotional journey,” he shared.

Adding further depth to the evening were special guest appearances by Naufal Isa and Nizam Laksamana, who joined UNIC on stage during dedicated segments. Their performances were met with loud applause and reflected the strong sense of friendship and shared values among the artists. Bazli also mentioned how meaningful their involvement was.

“Naufal Isa and Nizam Laksamana are not just guest performers; they are companions in this journey. Their presence completed the story of ‘This Is UNIC’ and brought additional emotional warmth to the stage,” he said.

The concert ended with “Ainul Mardhiah,” leaving a strong and lasting impression on everyone in attendance. More than just a look back, the concert marked UNIC’s renewed commitment to bringing nasyid music to major stages.

Closing the emotionally charged night, Bazli, Dr. Fitri, and Fakhrul expressed their heartfelt gratitude.

“We are very grateful for the love and support of our fans over the past 20 years. ‘This Is UNIC: Live In Concert’ proves that nasyid music remains relevant, resilient, and essential. Insya-Allah, this is not the end, but the beginning of many more meaningful works and shared experiences,” said all three of them collectively.
