For the 2026 haj season, Amal by Malaysia Airlines is set to operate 110 flights, which will be carried out in two phases.

Amal, the haj and umrah pilgrimage arm of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), will be transporting a total of 15,620 pilgrims throughout the season.

There are 55 flights in Phase 1, which will transport pilgrims to Madinah and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile in Phase 2, there are 55 return flights scheduled from June 4 to 30.

Phase 1 of Amal’s 2026 haj operations officially commenced on April 18 with the inaugural flight MH8050, which departed for Madinah’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.

As many as 67 domestic feeder flights supported the first flight of the season, which connected to cities such as Johor Baru (Johor), Alor Setar (Kedah), Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu), Kuching (Sarawak) and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah).

“At Amal by Malaysia Airlines, it is our privilege to serve pilgrims on this sacred journey,” Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Amal chief operating officer, said in a press statement. He added that they are committed to “…delivering a smooth and meaningful travel experience”.

Amal is operating its flights with the A330-300 aircraft, which has 284 seats.

Returning pilgrims will additionally benefit from the door-to-door courier service by MAG, under its subsidiary MASkargo.

The service offers pilgrims a convenient way to send belongings home. Through it, their parcels can be accepted at selected hotels in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. The parcels will then be consolidated and delivered directly to Malaysia.
