Shortcut leads to life cut short

A MAN died after falling while trying to board a moving train and getting run over, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The tragedy began to unfold when the 52-year-old man, who was identified only as Rahman, bought a ticket for a train in Chennai, India’s Tamil Nadu state.

He noticed that the train was leaving the station from another platform.

Anxious to not miss the train, Rahman jumped down onto the track and tried to board the train from the opposite side of the platform.

However, he tripped and fell onto the track.

His right leg was severed by the moving train. There were extensive injuries below his hip as well.

A railway police officer rescued the severely injured Rahman and helped send him to hospital by ambulance.

However, he died in the hospital.
