According to Kosmo!, 31 of the carcasses were found wrapped in plastic and stored in a freezer.

There were 36 other cats found in cages, but they were in an emaciated state.

> A panther is believed to be on the prowl in Gua Musang, Kelantan, following the disappearance of cats and the death of a sheep, Harian Metro reported.

“It occurred very close to residential homes. There are about 30 families here.

“We are worried about the safety of children who play outside in the evenings,” said Mohd Helmiey Shudi Hussin, who lives in the quarters of Hospital Gua Musang.

“I was told that residents had previously encountered a black panther chasing and catching a cat,” said Mohd Helmiey, 42.

A hospital staff member, Muhamad Afiq Fahmi Md Zuhaidi, said a sheep kept by workers for a Hari Raya feast was believed to have been killed by the wild animal.

He said the sheep was earlier tied up about 10m away from the residential area.

“At around 7am last Friday, I was informed by another staff member that the sheep had been attacked by a black panther,” said Muhamad Afiq Fahmi, 29.

“I have reported the matter to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks and traps have been set in the area,” he said.

Norish, 51, was known for her role in movies such as in Sayang Salmah and Raja Melewar.

Manda said rising treatment costs for her mother have left the family facing financial strain.
