A VIDEO has gone viral on social media, showing a man, believed to be under the influence of drugs, going on a rampage and damaging several automated teller machines (ATMs) with a hoe.
Captions and comments on the video claim that the incident occurred in Pasir Gudang, Johor, recently.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sohaimi Ishak confirmed that a 56-year-old man had lodged a report on the incident, which happened at 7.46am on Tuesday (Sept 16) in a bank in Taman Bukit Dahlia, Pasir Gudang.
“Acting on the information, a 54-year-old male suspect was arrested on the same day.
“A hoe believed to have been used during the incident and 0.9g of syabu were also seized,” he said in a statement Wednesday (Sept 17).
He added that checks on the suspect’s criminal record revealed six prior cases involving crime and drugs.
“The suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine.
“He has been remanded for three days until Sept 19,” he said.
ACP Mohd Sohaimi said the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of not less than one year and not more than five years or a fine or both, upon conviction for committing mischief against property.
“This case is also being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession, which carries a jail term of up to five years or a fine of up to RM100,000, or both.
“In addition, investigations are being carried out under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act for drug consumption, which upon conviction carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine not exceeding RM5,000,” he said.
He reminded the public not to make any speculation that could cause misunderstanding and anxiety among the community and not to spread unverified information.
“I also welcome cooperation from members of the public who have information on any criminal activities to channel it to the nearest police station or to the Seri Alam district control centre at 07-387 1422 or hotline 07-3861 4222,” he said.
Earlier, a 15-second video of the incident had gone viral on TikTok, showing several damaged ATM machines.
