CABLE thieves in Petaling Jaya apparently decided that flooring the accelerator was a better option than pulling over for police.
A four-wheel-drive carrying four suspected cable thieves sped through several kilometres of roads before skidding off near Jalan Kemajuan 12/16.
But did this brazen high-speed escape actually happen?
Verdict:

TRUE
Two men suspected of cable theft were arrested after their four-wheel-drive vehicle crashed during a police pursuit in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday (April 1).
Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Supt M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit spotted a vehicle carrying four men at Jalan Penchala, heading towards Jalan Othman at 5.19am.
The suspects sped off after being ordered to pull over, leading to a several-kilometre chase before their vehicle skidded onto the road shoulder near the junction of Jalan Kemajuan 12/16.
"Four men jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but two of them were nabbed. Several lengths of cut cables were found and seized from the vehicle used by the suspects," said Supt M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly.
Police are currently tracking down the two remaining suspects.
