A woman was detained after being caught driving against the flow of traffic in a reckless manner near Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Hampar in Segamat, Johor. The incident was highlighted by an 18-second video clip showing a blue Perodua Bezza being driven dangerously, which quickly went viral on social media.

Segamat police chief, Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah, confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that the suspect, in her 40s, tested negative for drugs following a urine test. Additionally, a background check revealed that she has no prior criminal record.

The suspect was arrested by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Segamat police district headquarters. She is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to reckless and dangerous driving.

The video and subsequent arrest have sparked discussions about road safety and the importance of vigilant driving, especially near schools and areas with high pedestrian activity.
