Melaka polls: No issues with Pakatan seat allocation, says Adam Adli

MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan component parties have no issues with seat allocation for the Melaka state election on Nov 14, says Acting Melaka PKR chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim.

Adam Adli said the confusion arose from reports that PKR would contest the Ayer Keroh state seat, currently held by DAP, when the party had actually been allocated Ayer Molek.

"This matter needs to be clarified to prevent further misunderstanding,” he said on Saturday (Oct 17).

He was speaking after officiating the Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary SPM English Final Sprint Clinic, organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit and Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Adam Adli, who is also Hang Tuah Jaya MP, said he hoped that the state polls would be held in an atmosphere of healthy competition, with all contesting parties focusing on public issues and interests rather than matters that could divide the community.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Oct 31 for nomination, Nov 10 for early voting and Nov 14 for polling in the Melaka state election. – Bernama
