MORE than 400 badminton players from Malaysia and abroad took part in a tournament organised by the Klang Racquet Club, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Club president Senbagamaran Subramaniam said this year’s edition attracted players from every state in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as competitors from Jakarta and Sri Lanka, reflecting the tournament’s growing popularity.

Players competed in 15 categories, with children as young as six taking part.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo’s political secretary and former senator R. Suresh Singh opened the event, as he had done for the previous two editions.

Winners in each category shared cash prizes totalling RM25,000 and received badminton racquets, while the runners-up and third-placed finishers received racquets and other badminton equipment.
