AN 11-year-old girl in Hunan, China, has won admiration online after taking over her mother’s role at the family fish stall when the latter was injured two years ago, reported Oriental Daily.
A video filmed at Hongxing Wholesale Market in Changsha showed Hong Cheng expertly catching, scaling and gutting fish with remarkable speed and precision despite her young age.
Her knife skills amazed many viewers, with some dubbing her the “little master”.
The video quickly went viral, with netizens praising her maturity, diligence and willingness to endure the smell of raw fish to help support her family.
When reporters visited the market, they found Hong working alongside her mother, who said she and her husband had operated the stall for 17 years.
In 2024, she suffered a fall that left her unable to work. Their daughter, then just nine, volunteered to help.

“Because my husband is famous, more people have come to know me because of him. That gives me more opportunities to share God’s word,” she said.
Rather than dwell on what ended their marriage, Chang said she chooses to communicate with Wu through prayer. She sends him Bible verses every day, hoping he can draw strength from his faith during difficult times.
Wu and Chang married in 1990 and have four children. As Wu’s career took off, he kept the marriage secret for years while being linked romantically to several female celebrities, as Chang remained out of the spotlight.
