The late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali was “an angel”, says Misha Omar.
The singer said the opportunity to portray the late pioneering figure in the 2011 Mahathir the Musical as one of the most meaningful experiences of her career, reported Harian Metro.
Misha recalled meeting Dr Siti Hasmah privately at the Petronas Twin Towers after theatre producer Siti Rohaya Attan arranged a session to help her prepare for the role.
“She was a very kind person – like an angel. She treated me, someone who was still green and inexperienced at the time, with such kindness.
“She did not create any distance despite her status as the wife of the Prime Minister,” said Misha, who is known for her hit song Bunga-Bunga Cinta.
Describing Dr Siti Hasmah as gentle and humble, Misha said she was grateful for the opportunity to have met her personally.
“I am truly proud to have had that personal experience and moment with her. In reality, she was very poised yet loved to joke around.
“I still remember meeting her during the musical. When I asked if I could take a photo, she cheekily replied, ‘RM5’,” Misha recalled.

Rabiatul Adawiyah Abdul Rahman, 35, said she could also face a claim from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) following alleged electricity theft at the property.
She said neighbours informed her that TNB personnel and police had been at the house on Sunday.
“I handed over the house in new condition, with new wiring. But now my house has been ruined.
“The suspects tampered with the ceiling and wiring, drilling holes throughout the house. Now I am left to bear a massive financial loss,” she said.
Rabiatul Adawiyah said the tenant had rented the house in April after claiming to have a family.
She said she had no reason to suspect any illegal activity as the tenant had consistently paid the monthly rent on time and dealt with her personally.
