Ling Tian Soon, Lee Ting Han among the most capable, hardworking leaders in Johor, says MB

YONG PENG: Johor caretaker executive councillors Ling Tian Soon and Lee Ting Han are among the state’s most capable and hardworking leaders, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Johor Mentri Besar said both had shown strong performance in their portfolios over the past four years.

“Among the hardest-working and high-performing exco members are YB Ling Tian Soon and YB Lee Ting Han,” he said in Johor MCA fundraising dinner on Thursday (June 25).

Onn Hafiz said Ling, who is in charge of health and environment, was “very rajin”, dealing daily with issues on health, cleanliness and the environment.

He said Lee, who oversees investment, trade and consumer affairs, had also played an important role in strengthening Johor’s economy.

“Because of his efforts and teamwork, investment in Johor is the highest,” he said, noting that Johor recorded total investments of RM110bil in 2025.

Recently, Barisan Nasional named its candidates for the coming Johor election, retaining Ling and Lee to defend the Yong Peng and Paloh seats, respectively.

Onn Hafiz also reminded voters not to be influenced by slander or attempts to create fear and confusion.

Addressing Chinese voters in particular, he urged them to stay focused on unity and Johor’s future.

He said Johor had a clear mission and vision to become a developed state by 2030, and that unity was a key part of this.

“The most important element is unity. Tiong Hua, Malays and Indians must be like one family – Rou Fo qian jin, women shi yi jia ren (Johor moves forward, we are one family),” he said.

Onn Hafiz said he would continue to serve all communities in the state.

“To the Tiong Hua community, don’t worry. As Mentri Besar, I will continue to work for the Chinese, Indian and Malay communities, because we are Bangsa Johor,” he said, adding in Mandarin: “Wo ai ni men (I love you all).”

“I am always ready to work with you so that Johor can move forward,” he added.

Ling, who is Yong Peng assemblyman, was first appointed as a Johor executive councillor after the 2022 state election. He is in charge of health and environment and is known for raising issues related to clinics, hospitals, cleanliness and waste management.

Lee, the Paloh assemblyman, sits in the state exco handling investment, trade and consumer affairs. Under his portfolio, Johor has continued to draw strong domestic and foreign investments, contributing to job creation and economic growth in the state.
