A WOMAN in Tamil Nadu sent thugs to beat up her ex-husband but told them to only break his leg because she needed him alive, Makkal Osai reported.
Vasantha, 40, and Thamotharan, 42, married 12 years ago and have an 11-year-old son.
She left him about six years ago and married an auto-driver, leaving her child with the father.
She recently began demanding that Thamotharan send their son to live with her, but the father refused.
A few weeks ago, Thamotharan received a phone call from an unknown number asking for his home address to deliver a parcel.
Two men subsequently turned up at his house, assaulted him, and broke his right leg.
A police investigation later traced the attack back to Vasantha.
The woman confessed to paying 350,000 rupees (RM1,500) to the thugs to beat up her ex-husband.
