ACTRESS Datin Lisa Surihani clarified that she has not retired, saying she has only slowed down but remains open to suitable projects, Kosmo! reported.
She also denied announcing that she was leaving the entertainment industry.
“I never said I was putting a full stop to acting. Sometimes projects do not work out because of timing, work commitments or because the role and story is not suitable,” she was quoted as saying.
The 40-year-old actress, who has been acting since her teens, said the profession remains close to her heart despite taking a slower pace in recent years.
“Of course I miss acting because it has been part of my life for so long.
“Whatever opportunities come my way, I believe God has planned what is best,” she said, adding that she usually consults her husband Datuk Yusri Abdul Halim, her mother and close friends before making career decisions.
> A man, who had been looking forward to moving to his new house next month, was devastated when strong winds tore off the roof of the property in Ipoh, Harian Metro reported.
The house in Anjung Bercham was among those damaged in a storm that struck several areas in the Perak capital last Friday.
Manjit Singh Minder Singh, 36, said he was to move into the house with his family but the dream was shattered after the roof was blown away.
“I thought we could move into the house next month,” he said, describing the incident as heartbreaking as the family now has to deal with repair work.
The storm reportedly damaged more than 200 homes in Bercham and the surrounding areas, with authorities carrying out clean-up operations and assessing the extent of damage.
