KUALA LUMPUR: Reset Movement founder and Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin arrived to attend an Opposition MPs’ meeting at the PAS headquarters here on Wednesday (June 17), Sinar Harian reports.
Also present were Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah and Masjid Tanah MP Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, the Malay language daily reported.
Several of the MPs declined to comment on what would be discussed at the meeting, which is to be chaired by Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
Earlier, Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said the meeting was expected to touch on various current political developments, including the turmoil within Perikatan Nasional.
He said a media statement would be issued after the meeting and that, so far, there would be no specific announcement.
“We will issue a media statement. So there is nothing we want to announce at this time,” he said when met here.
Asked about the presence of MPs from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), the PAS information chief said the meeting would only be attended by those who had received special invitations.
He said he could not confirm whether MPs from the party were taking part in the meeting.
“I’m not sure. I was also only invited by the secretariat to come tonight.
“The meeting involves only selected Opposition MPs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jerantut MP Khairil Nizam Khirudin was of the view that the turmoil affecting PN is expected to be among the matters discussed at the meeting.
He said, however, that would depend on the agenda set by the meeting chair.
“All matters will be discussed, and we leave it to the chair,” he said.
