PETALING JAYA: The unsubsidised retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be reduced by 30sen to RM4.37 per litre from June 18 to 24, says the Finance Ministry.
In a statement Wednesday (June 17), it added that the retail price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will remain at RM3.72 per litre and RON97 will retail at RM4.35 per litre.
Under the targeted subsidy framework, RON95 petrol under the Budi95 programme remains at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan stay at RM2.15 per litre.
Subsidised fuel prices under the Sistem Kawalan Petrol Bersubsidi (SKPS) and Sistem Kawalan Diesel Bersubsidi (SKDS) are set at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.
Since April 1, the monthly eligibility limit for Budi95 has been adjusted to 200 litres, a temporary measure until global supply conditions stabilise.
Additionally, diesel purchase limits apply in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
The ministry also said that the government spent about RM3.5bil a month on subsidies, with RM2bil used for RON95 subsidies and RM1.5bil on diesel subsidies.
