PETALING JAYA: Two suspects wanted by Indian authorities for alleged links to a railway track bombing in Punjab have been deported by the police.
Criminal Investigation Department director Comm Datuk M. Kumar, in a statement Wednesday (June 17), said that the police confirmed the deportation of the two Indian nationals.
“The police confirm that on June 17, Malaysia had deported two Indian nationals who are wanted fugitives and are believed to have been involved in a case involving the bombing of a railway track in Patiala, Punjab, India on April 27 2026.
“This action was carried out by Bukit Aman CID, following a request for assistance from the Indian authorities to locate and arrest both individuals.
“This collaboration reflects the continued commitment of the police in combating cross-border crime while strengthening security cooperation at the international level,” he said,
He added that Malaysia will not become a safe haven for those attempted to flee criminal prosecution.
