Biker injured, hit by car that allegedly ran red light in Subang


PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist has been injured after a car driven by an Iranian woman allegedly ran a red light and collided with his vehicle on Jalan Lagoon Selatan in Subang Jaya.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police received a report on the incident at about 10.30am on Wednesday (June 17).

Initial investigations found that the accident involved a car driven by a 32-year-old Iranian woman and a motorcycle ridden by a 24-year-old local man.

"The car, travelling from Jalan Lagoon Selatan towards the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), is believed to have run a red light.

"The vehicle then collided with a motorcycle that was proceeding straight through the intersection when the traffic light was green," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

ACP Wan Azlan said the motorcyclist suffered injuries to his leg and body and was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for further treatment while the car driver was unhurt.

"The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Those with information on the incident are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Fatin Husna Khairuzzaman of the Subang Jaya district police traffic investigation and enforcement division at 017-301 2621 to assist in the investigation.
