JASLINDA Saludin (pic) is determined to continue hiking despite her ordeal of spending 14 days lost on Gunung Batu Putih, reports Sinar Harian.
Her husband, Haszman Othman, 61, said that his wife’s enthusiasm for the activity has not diminished.
However, he stressed that any future hiking activities must be approached with greater caution and under stricter conditions.
“I have said okay, but bring the children along and be more careful,” he said.
Jaslinda, 49, was discharged from Hospital Tapah on Tuesday after three days of treatment.
She expressed gratitude for the public’s prayers.
“Alhamdulillah, I am healthy. Thank you to all Malaysians who prayed for my safety,” she said.
> Singer Faizal Tahir admitted he had reservations about returning to the big stage after a three-year hiatus before agreeing to headline Faizal Tahir: Suara Rakyat at Unifi Arena, Bukit Jalil, on Oct 3.
Berita Harian quoted him as saying that he spent several months considering the proposal from organiser Hitman Solutions, largely due to concerns over the venue’s capacity and his ability to draw a large crowd.
Faizal explained that he has long been more comfortable performing at corporate events and was concerned that ticket sales might not match those of the past.
The 48-year-old singer said the organiser’s persistence and the concert’s people-centric concept eventually won him over.
> Kosmo! reported that three sisters from Nibong Tebal, Penang, registered as organ donors despite initial opposition from their family.
One of them, R. Umavathi, who is in her 40s, said her family had never discussed organ donation while growing up.
However, her brother-in-law’s passing due to a road accident last year strengthened their commitment to the cause.
Umavathi, who first signed up as a donor in her 30s, was later joined by her two sisters after they saw the impact organ donation could have on patients awaiting transplants.
“I still remember my brother-in-law’s death after a road accident. My sister said if his organs could have been donated, perhaps they could have helped others continue living,” she said.
