KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid KL has taken immediate action to withdraw the services of a specific train following an incident involving a technical fault where one of its doors did not completely close.
In a statement on Monday (July 27), it said one of the doors on a Kelana Jaya Line train travelling towards Gombak on Sunday (July 26) did not completely shut.
"At 11.08am on Sunday, the operations team detected a technical problem with one of the train's doors, which prevented it from closing properly.
"As soon as the issue was identified, immediate operational safety procedures were activated to ensure passenger safety.
"The train was directed to the Taman Bahagia Station where all passengers were safely disembarked and asked to continue their journey on the next available train.
"No injuries were reported in the incident," it said.
Rapid KL said the train was then withdrawn from service to undergo technical inspection and further follow-up action.
"We take any issues involving passenger safety and operations seriously.
"A detailed investigation is underway to determine the cause of the technical fault, including an inspection of the train's door system before the necessary repair works are carried out.
"We remain committed to ensuring that safety continues to be the top priority in all our rail operations," it said.
