PETALING JAYA: Derga assemblyman Mohamad Amri Wahab has become the latest Bersatu representative to face disciplinary action, after being suspended immediately from party membership for two terms, Sinar Harian reports.
According to the Malay language daily, Mohamad Amri, who is also the Pokok Sena Bersatu chief, was subject to action under Clause 22.5 for violating Clause 9.1.4 of the Constitution and the Bersatu Members' Code of Ethics and Conduct.
The decision of the united disciplinary board resulted in Mohammad Amri being stripped of all positions held in the party during the relevant period.
The notice also stated that he could not make any statements on behalf of the party until the suspension period expired.
However, Mohamad Amri was given 14 days to submit an appeal to the appeals board for further consideration.
So far, several leaders have been sacked, include Suka Menanti assemblyman Dzowahir Ab Ghani; Sungai Tiang assemblyman Abdul Razak Khamis; deputy youth chief Muhammad Faiz Rahmad; Parit youth chief Wan Meor Safwat Naqiuddin Shamsuddin and Kok Lanas assemblyman Datuk Mohamed Farid Mohamed Zawawi.
Leaders subject to suspension include Chenderoh assemblyman Syed Lukman Hakim Syed Mohd Zain; Tanah Merah MP Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz and Rompin MP Datuk Khalib Abdullah.
Others suspended include Lumut MP Nordin Ahmad Ismail, Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Rosol Wahid; Ketereh MP Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor, Kuala Sepetang assemblyman Ahmad Man; Mersing MP Muhammad Islahuddin Abas and Bukit Bunga assemblyman Mohd Almidi Jaafar.
