KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan will hold its first convention in four years on May 17.
In a joint statement, PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Amanah vice president Adly Zahari and DAP vice chairman Syahredzan Johan said the Pakatan Harapan Convention 2026 will be themed "Tekad Madani, Harapan Rakyat" (Madani's Resolve, the People's Hope).
"This convention will serve as a platform to strengthen the unity of the leadership and organisation, coordinate political work and detail Pakatan’s direction in facing the country’s current challenges.
"As the leader of the Madani Government, Pakatan continues to focus on strengthening the country's economy, political stability and people's confidence ahead of the state elections and the 16th General Election.
"The Prime Minister and Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver a special message to the delegates at the convention.
"It will also see the top leadership attend to strengthen unity and preparedness to face current political challenges," the statement read.
It said the last Pakatan convention was held in 2022.
"This coming convention reflects Pakatan's continued commitment to strengthening the organisation, empowering the reform agenda and ensuring that the aspirations of the Madani Government continue to be implemented in the interests of the people," it said.
The convention will take place from 8am to 6pm at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor Baru.
