PUTRAJAYA: Services provided by My E.G. Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd as collection agents for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) have been suspended effective Monday (Oct 5) over RM314mil in unremitted government revenues.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the outstanding arrears accumulated between May 19 and Sept 30 this year, involving revenue collections that were not transferred to the Transport Ministry Accounting Office's Main Collection Account.
Loke also refuted claims that the ministry and JPJ had failed to act over a three-year period.
“The three-year figure is inaccurate. The outstanding arrears began accumulating in May of this year, a period of just a few months, not three years," Loke told a press conference at the ministry here on Monday.
“While there had been occasional arrears in the past, the parties involved would typically settle them after receiving reminder notices," he added.
Since May, Loke said the ministry and JPJ took several steps to recover the funds, including issuing 35 reminder notices, setting settlement deadlines, and holding four engagement sessions with stakeholders, including the Finance Ministry.

On Aug 21, the company submitted a post-dated cheque for Sept 30 amounting to RM231mil to cover arrears owed at the time.
“However, when the cheque was presented for processing on Sept 30, the bank did not process it on instructions from the company itself.
“Consequently, the ministry and JPJ were compelled to take the drastic measure of suspending payment services via the MyEG and Zetrix AI channels effective Oct 5,” he said.
Loke assured the public that the suspension would not disrupt JPJ’s service delivery, as transactions remain available through alternative channels. These include the MyJPJ app, the JPJ Public Portal, physical counters, kiosks and other official platforms.
To handle fine payments by non-Malaysians at the Malaysia-Singapore border, mobile JPJ counters will operate from 8.00am to 10.00pm at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and the Sultan Iskandar Building in Johor.
For candidates taking the KPP01 Theory Test, JPJ has arranged for 85 approved driving institutes to conduct computerised testing directly, bypassing centres previously operated by MyEG.
Loke added that the ministry and JPJ will initiate legal action to recover the full RM314mil.
“The government takes a serious view of non-compliance regarding the management and remittance of public funds. We will not compromise with any party that fails to fulfil its obligations involving government monies," he said.
Earlier, JPJ announced in a statement that the suspension took effect at 12.01am on Oct 5 for both companies under the MYEG Group following non-compliance with the terms and conditions of their agreement.
