PUTRAJAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will suspend services provided by MYEG Group collection agents MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd from Oct 5.
The suspension takes effect at 12.01am on Monday.
“The decision was made after taking into consideration compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreement, as well as the status of obligations that have yet to be fulfilled or resolved by the companies concerned.
“In line with this decision, all JPJ services offered via MYEG Group channels will be halted from Oct 5,” said JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.
He gave an assurance that the department’s services will continue as usual through official and alternative channels.
These include JPJ counters and kiosks, MyJPJ app, post offices and JPJ mobile counters.
Aedy Fadly said computerised driving theory test (KPP01) bookings made through MYEG before Oct 5 would remain valid and could proceed as scheduled.
For new bookings made from Oct 5 onwards, applicants must book and sit for their test at driving institute KPP test centres nationwide.
For non-Malaysians paying traffic summonses at the Malaysia-Singapore border, JPJ mobile units will provide payment facilities at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar from 8am to 10pm.
Aedy Fadly advised the public to use official channels to ensure transactions were carried out smoothly and securely.
“JPJ remains committed to ensuring the continuity of service delivery to the public and that all transactions are conducted in an orderly, transparent and integrity-driven manner,” he said.
It was reported that Zetrix AI failed to hand over money collected for the renewal of vehicle road tax, driving licences and traffic summonses from the very start of its three-year contract in May 2023, leading to alleged unpaid arrears of around RM200mil.
