'Unreliable partner' comment not helpful, could trigger conflicts, says Wan Rosdy

KLANG: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has rebuked DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng for saying Umno and Barisan Nasional were "unreliable partners" within the Unity Government.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Wan Rosdy said such remarks could destabilise the political landscape.

"Statements like these are not helpful.

"They will only worsen the situation at a time when the Barisan and Pakatan Harapan leadership are working hard to find solutions to several issues that surfaced recently," he said.

Wan Rosdy warned Lim against acting as an instigator who could trigger larger internal conflicts.

"If he has a negative view of Umno and Barisan Nasional, he must also understand that many in Umno and Barisan Nasional share the same view of him," he said.

However, Wan Rosdy said leaders must prioritise professionalism over personal grievances for the sake of political stability and the welfare of the people.

He said senior leaders within the administration should focus on strengthening the Unity Government rather than issuing statements that could damage inter-party ties.

"The people want stability and solutions, not prolonged political bickering," he said.
