Teenager drowns in Bandar Botanik lake


SHAH ALAM: A 15-year-old boy has drowned in a lake in Bandar Botanik, Klang.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 6.21pm on Thursday (Oct 1).

He said the search operation involved seven personnel from the Andalas station, assisted by the water rescue team from the Shah Alam station.

"The victim was swimming alone in the man-made lake and his friends attempted to rescue him.

"The boy's body was found by the team at a depth of one metre at 8.21pm," he said in a statement on Thursday night. – Bernama
