KUALA TERENGGANU: Former Terengganu Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chief Datuk Razali Idris has hinted at joining a new political platform after announcing his departure from the party’s state leadership.
Razali, who is Terengganu state tourism, culture, environment and climate change committee chairman, said he was stepping away after about 10 years in Bersatu’s state leadership.
“After 10 years as a Bersatu leader, today I am stepping down.
“I will move forward with a new platform. Please don’t criticise me,” he wrote in a social media post on Thursday (Oct 1).
His remarks have raised questions about whether he intends to leave Bersatu entirely and join another political party.
On Aug 7, Razali was reported to have stepped down as Terengganu Bersatu chief after leading the state chapter for about a decade.
However, the former Bersatu information chief has yet to clarify what he meant by a “new platform” or confirm whether he remains a party member.
The development has drawn attention given his previous role as one of Bersatu’s key leaders in Terengganu.
