Elderly man dies after falling from bridge at highway near Seremban


SEREMBAN: A 74-year-old man died after falling from a bridge and onto the North-South Expressway (NSE) on Wednesday (April 8).

The victim was subsequently struck by an oncoming vehicle in the incident at 12.40pm.

The tragedy occurred at KM263.2 of the expressway.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said preliminary investigations parked his motorcycle near the seven-metre-high bridge located along the Jalan Sg Ujong-Bukit Nenas stretch before he fell.

A sports utility vehicle travelling from Kuala Lumpur was unable to stop in time and collided with the man.

The victim was killed on the spot and his remains were sent to Rembau Hospital for post-mortem.

ACP Azahar said the case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
