KUALA LUMPUR: Former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki is expected to file a defamation suit against businessman Albert Tei on Wednesday (June 3).
Azam said his lawyer was preparing the notice for the lawsuit.
"This is something fabricated to confuse the people and damage the reputation of MACC and myself.
"The public needs to know the real facts. That is why I am taking legal action immediately through my lawyer," he said when contacted by Astro Awani.
Azam also denied allegations that he had ever dealt with or communicated with the individual in question.
"Never spoken to him, never met him. I don't know what he means by the allegations. Even my lawyer has never dealt with him, let alone meeting or having a discussion with the individual involved," he said.
Previously, Tei had alleged that Azam threatened, obstructed and victimised him when he attempted to expose an alleged corruption scandal involving several high-profile politicians in Sabah.
