Cow-loaded lorry crashes into signboard on KL-Seremban Highway

KAJANG: A lorry carrying five cows crashed into a highway signboard after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle at KM297.2 of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident occurred at about 7.02am on Monday (May 25).

He said the lorry was driven by an 18-year-old local man, with a 41-year-old man travelling as a passenger.

“Initial investigations found that the lorry was travelling from Negri Sembilan to Kelantan when the driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before veering to the left side of the road and crashing into a highway signboard,” he said in a statement.

ACP Naazron said the driver suffered injuries to his left leg and chest, while the passenger sustained head injuries.

“Both victims were taken to Hospital Serdang for further treatment. No fatalities were reported,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving resulting in an accident.

Police urged those with information on the incident to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Raziman Rasid at 019-4565502 to assist investigations.

ACP Naazron also advised motorists to drive carefully, ensure their vehicles are in good condition and comply with traffic laws.
