A MAN in India allegedly killed his pregnant wife out of fear that she might give birth to another daughter and also killed his two daughters, Makkal Osai reported.

The woman, identified only as Farhat, 26, and her daughters, Umera and Ayesha, aged eight and six, were found drowned in a swimming pool at the family’s home in Telangana, which was managed by her husband, Azharuddin.

He told the police that the trio slipped and fell into the pool.

Farhat’s father did not believe his son-in-law and lodged a police report. Under questioning, Azharuddin admitted to drowning them.

Farhat reportedly became pregnant twice after the birth of her daughters but was allegedly forced by her husband to undergo abortions, as he feared they would have more daughters.

After Farhat became pregnant again, she refused to have another abortion, angering Azharuddin.
