CANDIDATES aligned with incumbent Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) president T. Ganesan won all nine seats on the organisation’s Central Working Committee (CWC), a result deemed a major victory for the president, Makkal Osai reported.
MHS delegates from around the country cast their votes during the organisation’s 49th annual general meeting, held at the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Bandar Sunway.
Observers had expected a close contest between the incumbent’s allies and the Marumalarchi, or Renaissance, team led by Dr Muralitharan Paramasua.
However, the nine candidates endorsed by Ganesan for the CWC won by significant margins.
The newly minted CWC re-elected incumbents Ganesan as president and Balakrishnan Parasuraman as deputy president, and named former president Datuk RS Mohan Shan as vice-president.
All other members of the top leadership were also returned to their positions.
