Budget 2027: Oil palm replanting, higher rubber production among key measures for smallholders, says Anwar

PETALING JAYA: Oil palm replanting, higher rubber production incentives and improved estate roads are among the key measures for smallholders under Budget 2027, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The government has allocated RM100mil in hybrid financing to support oil palm replanting for 4,500 smallholders, with recipients required to repay only half of the financing.

The rubber production incentive rate will also be raised for the third time, to RM3.30 per kg, benefiting more than 300,000 smallholders.

Another RM30mil has been allocated to tackle crop diseases and pest infestations, including Ganoderma, bagworms and mealybugs affecting the oil palm sector, as well as cocoa and pepper crops.

The government has also set aside RM100mil to repair estate roads.
