RM300mil for water system

SAMARAHAN: The water supply system here will be upgraded with a RM300mil allocation by the Sarawak government to ensure a more stable flow and to meet current and future needs.

Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the project will include replacing old pipes and restructuring the water distribution system.

She said a proposal to build high-capacity water tanks has also been put forward to support residential and industrial needs in the area, Bernama reported.

Rubiah said the upgrade works are expected to begin at the end of April and will take about 12 months to complete.
