Babysitter charged with murder of toddler in Puchong


SEPANG: A babysitter was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with the murder of a 23-month-old girl under her care in Puchong last month.

Nur Syuhaida Jamalluddin, 33, was alleged to have murdered Dhiya Falisha Mustaqim between 9.31am and 11.24am on May 18 at a unit in Apartment Kiambang, Taman Putra Perdana.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty, or between 30 and 40 years' jail with at least 12 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.

No plea was recorded from the accused after the charge was read out to her before Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani on Thursday (June 4).

The court fixed July 14 for case mention. – Bernama
