Widow expresses relief as driver charged with murder over fatal Klang crash

KLANG: The widow of a motorcyclist killed in a recent road accident says she feels some relief now that the driver involved has been charged with murder.

Nurul Nadia Abdul Majid, 32, whose husband Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33, died after his motorcycle was rammed by a car at about 11.40am along Jalan Raya Barat here on Sunday, said she was thankful that the legal process was moving forward.

“I am a little relieved today. I only want to say one thing — an eye for an eye. That’s all,” she told reporters at the lobby of the Klang Court complex after the charges were read on Wednesday (April 1).

Nurul Nadia said she was satisfied with the progress and development of the case so far.

In the dock was technician R. Saktygaanapathy, 28, who faced two charges in connection with Amirul Hafiz’s death.

Saktygaanapathy pleaded guilty to the second charge. He had tested positive for both drugs and alcohol following the accident.

Amirul Hafiz leaves behind Nurul Nadia and their three children — Muhammad Aqif Amsyar, nine, Muhammad Afif Izz Rayqal, seven, and Nur Humaira, two.
