Cops help reunite parents with child left behind at highway rest stop

SEPANG: Swift action by police reunited parents with their child who was accidentally left behind at a rest stop here.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman said that the couple approached a police team stationed at a roadblock on Monday (March 23) night after stopping at the Sungai Merab rest stop earlier that evening.

"Acting on information gathered, two policemen, Kpl Rodzery Adderly Raden and Lans Kpl Muhammad Amirul Fazi Mohamed Shukri, escorted the family quickly back to the rest stop.

"This led to the safe return of the child," he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 24).

A social media post of the incident was also uploaded online.

The post shows a police car escorting the family back to the rest stop at night with the account of one parent superimposed over the footage, stating that the family only noticed the child was missing after driving some distance from the rest stop.
