BN leaving it to sacked Bersatu leaders to sort out their own problems, says Zambry

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional will not interfere in the sacked Bersatu leaders' matters while they resolve their problems, says Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

"At this stage, it is at their own level, because we (in Barisan) do not want to interfere in their affairs," the Barisan secretary-general told a press conference in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 25).

"We are aware that they are currently in a chaotic situation, and it is best for them to resolve it first.

"They should handle their issues on their own, and they surely already have their own plans," he added when asked if the group had met Umno leaders.

Asked if Umno would be the new "home" for sacked Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and others aligned with him, Zambry said his party's "rumah bangsa" concept meant that its doors are open to all.

"This concept is large-scale, involving not only party politics but also all groups, including possibly NGOs that share the same intention, vision and goal in the name of unity," added Zambry, who is also an Umno supreme council member.

Asked if Barisan would set any conditions for the expelled Bersatu leaders to join, he replied: "Hypothetical question. We will respond when it happens."

It was reported that Hamzah and 16 leaders who were sacked from Bersatu are expected to join a "new home".
