Three Perlis reps must reapply as new PAS members, says Takiyuddin

PETALING JAYA: The three former Perlis assemblymen who want to rejoin PAS would have to go through the process of joining as new members, says Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (pic).

The PAS secretary-general said each application would be processed according to procedures set by the party, Sinar Harian reports.

Takiyuddin said he has only been informed of the matter and that his office had yet to receive any official applications from the three individuals.

"I was only informed that they have submitted their new applications to join PAS, but my office has yet to receive them.

"The information was only relayed to me via the Syura Council yesterday," he said after visiting an imported fruit and onion warehouse that was burned down in Kota Baru on Monday (Feb 2).

"Each application would undergo a vetting process before being brought up to the central party committee for consideration and final decision," he added.

The PAS Syura Council has reportedly agreed to accept the appeals of three Perlis assemblymen whose party memberships were terminated in December last year

Saad Seman (Chuping), Fakhrul Anwar Ismail (Bintong) and Mohd Ridzuan Hashim (Guar Sanji) were sacked by PAS after they were involved in submitting statutory declarations alongside five Bersatu assemblymen to state their lack of confidence in former Perlis mentri besar Mohd Shukri Ramli's leadership.
