Police seize phone of PAS chief Hadi Awang’s Facebook admin

PETALING JAYA: Police have seized the mobile phone belonging to the administrator of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s Facebook page to assist in ongoing investigations into reports lodged against the party chief.

When contacted on Saturday (Aug 22), Hadi’s political secretary, Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman, confirmed that police recorded the PAS president's statement last week in Kuala Lumpur.

"Tok Guru (Hadi) gave his statement to the police in Kuala Lumpur last week. He will extend his full cooperation to assist in the investigations," Syahir said.

"If charged, he is ready and prepared to answer the allegations in court," he added, noting that the investigation stems from reports lodged by DAP supporters over a recent post published on Hadi’s official Facebook page.
