PETALING JAYA: Kedah PKR will focus on enhancing organisational readiness, including a proposed restructuring that combines experienced leaders with progressive new faces.
Kedah PKR leadership council communications director Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said the strategy is aimed at bolstering party strength and expanding grassroots support across the state.
"The leadership council held its first meeting for this year on Thursday (Jan 15) to review and strengthen the party’s direction at the state level amid current and future political challenges.
"Apart from enhancing organisational readiness, the discussion also centred on strategic planning aimed at reclaiming parliamentary and state assembly seats in Kedah, with emphasis on strengthening election machinery, sharpening people-centric welfare agendas and adopting a mature, principled political approach grounded in the public interest," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 16).
Tunku Nashrul said the meeting underscored the importance of effectively highlighting the achievements and initiatives of the Madani Government that directly benefit Kedah residents, especially in areas such as the economy, welfare, education, infrastructure and social well-being.
"It is aimed at ensuring the Federal Government’s role and contributions are better understood," he added.
At the same time, Kedah PKR reaffirmed its commitment to act as a responsible opposition in the state assembly by carrying out a constructive, fact-based system of checks and balances in the interest of the people, with the aim of ensuring transparent and accountable state governance, Tunku Nashrul said.
"The party is determined to move forward with a more structured and effective approach to remain relevant as a platform for the people, in line with reform aspirations and evolving public expectations.
"We remain focused on strengthening its organisation and outreach efforts as it prepares for the political challenges ahead," he added.
