One dead, another injured after car plunges into pond


PETALING JAYA: One person has been killed and another was injured after a car crashed into a pond here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis, when contacted, said that the accident occurred along Parit 4 in Sungai Besar on Saturday (Jan 3).

“The car fell into the pond, which is estimated to be around two metres deep. An unconscious teenage victim was successfully rescued.

“The other was found at a water catchment area around 150m away from the incident site. Medical officers confirmed his death at the scene,” he said.

He added that the 15-year-old victim has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
