THE extraordinary resilience of a PhD student battling cancer has paid off, Sinar Harian reported.
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia student Dr Mohd Khairul Faidzi Muhammad Paudzi had managed to complete his Doctor of Philosophy while battling Stage 2B lymphoma cancer.
Mohd Khairul Faidzi was in the final stage of writing his thesis when he was told of the devastating news.
In the following months, he endured several rounds of chemotherapy, excruciating pain and side effects such as hair loss, diarrhoea and body tremors.
However, Mohd Khairul Faidzi was committed to writing one page of the thesis every day and finally submitted it on October last year.
Speaking after his graduation, he said all this was possible due to the support of his wife, who is the pillar of his strength.
He also urged students who are facing adversities to stay positive.
