Man clings to family home despite ruins

A MAN who lives alone in a collapsed ancestral home in Kota Baru has refused to move despite dangerous conditions, the absence of light at night and the threat of wild animals, Kosmo! reported.

Mohd Rani Ibrahim, 61, who has a learning disability, said he will stay in what remains of the house even though most of it has rotted and caved in.

He said when it rains heavily, he gets completely soaked.

When there are strong winds, he has to take shelter at a neighbour’s place to avoid being hit by the wooden beams and walls that are badly damaged by termites.

“I live alone, and I use candles to light up the house.

“Venomous animals usually come into my house, but they haven’t harmed me,” he said.

The structure of the house is increasingly unstable and he remains exposed to storms, heavy rain and animal intrusion.

> The daily also reported that a lorry transporting a helicopter was stuck at a highway bend, causing a traffic congestion.

The incident, which occurred along a stretch near Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, went viral on social media after it was recorded by the public.

Based on a video clip, the situation appeared to have happened because the lorry was too long to navigate the bend.

However, the vehicle eventually managed to clear the corner with the assistance of several motorcyclists at the scene.

The incident sparked various reactions from social media users.

“Buying a helicopter but forgetting that it can fly?” one user commented.

“Why transport it by lorry? Why not just fly it to the buyer?” another user added.
