KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 100,882 job vacancies were advertised on the MYFutureJobs portal from January to Nov 14 this year, compared with 464,534 active job seekers, says Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad.
Speaking at the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Nov 24), he said sectors offering the most vacancies this year were information and communications, with 55,269 positions, followed by administrative and support services (34,391), manufacturing (33,866), professional, scientific and technical activities (24,849) and financial and insurance activities (21,459).
Abdul Rahman was responding to Azli Yusof (PH–Shah Alam), who asked the Human Resources Minister for a comparison of new jobs created in 2024 and 2025 that exceeded the 2023 median monthly salary of RM2,600, as well as the main sectors driving employment growth.
According to data from the same portal, a cumulative 1.1 million job vacancies were advertised from January to Sept 30 2025, compared with 1.5 million vacancies in 2024.
Abdul Rahman added that this year, 247,889 positions offered salaries of RM3,000 and above, compared with 339,916 such positions in 2024.
Breaking down the high-paying positions by category for 2025, he noted that roles with salaries of RM3,000 and above include cloud application consultants, SQL database developers, merchants, supply chain procurement specialists, and software consultants.
He said the government set targets and implemented various initiatives to ensure Malaysians can access these opportunities, particularly through the MYFutureJobs programme under Social Security Organisation’s (PERKESO), which is designed to fill high-demand positions while reducing reliance on foreign labour.
